Competition Entry Guidelines
Thank you for participating in The Big Cheese cannabis competition at Rooted in Wisconsin hemp festival. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top and is crowned The Big Cheese.
Please read these guidelines carefully and make sure that your entry fits our submission guidelines.
How do I submit my entry?
Entries must be packaged in a plain box. Each category has specific requirements.
With your box, include the following information:
- Your Name and Contact information
- The strain or flavor of the product
- The dosage (strength, in MG per serving. Edibles/Beverages only)
FOR ALL ENTRIES:
- Entry Fee: $75 for one entry. $25 for each additional entry
- You may enter all (6) categories
- You may only enter one submission PER category
- Submissions MUST BE produced primarily in Wisconsin
- Your Entry is due no later than July 1st.

Judging Parameters:
Samples will be assessed for the following characteristics:
- Aroma
- Flavor
- Texture
- Effect
- Structure
- Appearance (Of the product, NOT THE PACKAGING, because all samples will be anonymous)
Flower
TOTAL: 12+ Grams
- 9 Grams – For judges. Submit this in a bulk package, no branding.
- 3+ Grams – For Display. Submit this in BRANDED packaging for display at the event. Festival attendees will be able to smell and look at your product.
Concentrate
TOTAL: 4.5-5.5 Grams
- 0.5 Grams X 3 Jars – UNBRANDED – For the judges. These samples should be portioned into a PLAIN black Miron jar. DO NOT INLCUDE ANY LOGO OR BRANDING ON THE JAR.

1 or 2 Gram Jar – For Display Only, in your packaging, including your logo.
2 Gram Jar – For Dab Bar – This will be offered at the Dab bar (for free) in your packaging, including logo.
Any type of concentrate can be entered.
Edible
TOTAL: 4 Portions
3 Portions – For Judges – Include your submission in any packaging.
1 Portion – For Display – Branded with your logo and packaging.
Entries must be shelf stable.
Edible portion should be one serving per judge. This portion can be ANY MILLIGRAM of dosage, but you MUST SUBMIT THE DOSAGE STRENGTH TO US.
Edibles will be anonymized for judge’s kits.
Beverage
TOTAL: 3 Portions, plus Extra for Free Samples
3 X Portions – Judges – Unbranded if possible - MG INCLUDED.
1pc to 1cs – Display and free samples – We will be offering small cups of free samples to festival attendees. You are welcome to submit as many portions of your beverage as you like.
Entries must be shelf stable.
Beverage portion should be one serving per judge. This can be ANY MILLIGRAM of dosage, but you MUST SUBMIT THE DOSAGE STRENGTH TO US.
Please try to submit your entry in unbranded packaging. However, if this is not possible, we will cover up any branding for the judges’ samples.
Vaporizer
TOTAL: 4 Pieces
3 Vapes or Carts – Judges – Unbranded (if possible).
1 Vape or Cart – Branded for display.
Vaporizers can be any size (0.5g minimum) One unit per judge.
Please try to submit your entry without any logo or branding. However, if this is not possible, we will cover up any branding for the judges’ samples.
CBD
TOTAL: 4 Portions
3 Portions – For Judges – Unbranded.
1 Portion – For Display – in Branded packaging including logo.
This can be ANY CBD PRODUCT. Please submit your judges’ samples in plain packaging with no company logos, descriptions or branding of any type. If this is not possible, we will cover up any branding for the judges’ samples
Your contest entry payment is due upon delivery of your submission. Cash, Check (payable to “WCG LLC”) or Venmo (@WICannaGroup).
